Review by Dorla Moorehouse
Confessions is a foray into the sexy worlds of voyeurism, promiscuity, dominance, and threesomes. While the stories are all engaging and hot, they’re different from what I’m used to seeing from Xcite publications. Although the collection is a reflection of Xcite’s commitment to quality fiction, it also strays from the company’s vision of empowered female sexuality. Xcite! Books has a reputation for publishing quality erotica by excellent authors, both well-known and new. Unfortunately Seduce Me is a book that does not live up to the reputation of its publishing company. There are some excellent stories here, but quality of the anthology is negated by the presence of some poorly-written pieces. Add a series of typographical errors to the mix, and you’re left with a book that has the potential to be great but unfortunately fails to meet expectations. eBook Review for Ice Commander by Roger Frank Selby
By Alana James
I must confess this was virgin territory for me; my first foray into science fiction erotica. After some initial discomfort as I adjusted to the new sensation, I admit it was really quite pleasurable. Of course I can’t comment on how successful the book is in terms of the science fiction, but I will say it was an enjoyable erotic read.
This collection of short stories is essentially one long connected story broken into sections, making it read more like a novella. It is set in outer space, on spaceships and stations, which to my naive eyes felt believable. The plot centred around Carter and his experiences with his female senior officers and a mysterious alien, Laura. The narrative flowed very well, with excellent read-on pull. Once I started reading, I felt compelled to carry on to the end. Continue reading “eBook Review for Ice Commander by Roger Frank Selby”

Kyle is a gay man who’s had his heart broken. His way of coping is to blank everything out. And his way of doing that is plenty of sex and alcohol, and sometimes both at the same time. He’s determined to screw around to fill the void in his life without getting attached to anyone.
A conversation with his best friend changes Kyle’s life forever. All it took was one mention of cowboys and ranches, and Kyle decided to head off to Montana to make a fresh start. Once there, he quickly gains a reputation for himself for being a bit of a playboy, which doesn’t sit well with some of the others working on the ranch, or those living nearby. Kyle quickly finds himself in trouble, and after being rescued by a fellow cowboy – Kyle realises that he’s going to have to let go of his past in order to live his life. Q. What was your childhood ambition?
I have a vague memory that my very first ambition was to be a princess – what can I say, I was born a delusional romantic. I’ll let you guess how well I did with achieving that aim but let’s just say that luckily I always had a back-up plan. To be a writer.
Q. How did you end up being an erotic writer?
From years of being an avid erotic reader. I don’t believe that in any genre you can be successful at the latter without having been dedicated to the former.
Q. What are the most important components that go into making good erotic fiction?
Tension. Passion. Intensity.
Q. What does your working day typically consist of?
I try and start each morning with some exercise because writers’ bum is not a pretty thing to live with. Then it’s straight onto the main task of the day: Procrastination! The curse of writers everywhere. Unless I literally shut myself away in a room, I fall prey to endless distractions and chores I didn’t even know needed doing.

Author interview with Sommer Marsden
Q. What was your childhood ambition?
Would it be boring to say I wanted to be a writer? Too bad. That’s the answer. I wanted to be a writer.
Q. What was your first job?
My first real job that wasn’t neighborhood babysitting was delivering papers with my mother. I delivered a section of the route on week night evenings on foot with a newspaper bag and then on weekends we got up at three and did the whole route together with my sister. It was my first pay check job. She fired me. But only for two days, she let me back in the van and gave me my job back when I said I was sorry for shooting off my big mouth. It is no fun to deliver papers in a little red wagon. Trust me. Continue reading “Author interview with Sommer Marsden”

Interview with Elizabeth Coldwell
What was your childhood ambition?
I wanted to be an archaeologist – until I realised it meant digging up dead bodies.
What ambitions do you still have?
Loads – to work on a couple of novel ideas I currently have on the back burner, to write a story which people will come to consider as a classic of the genre, to branch out into comedy writing by collaborating with a friend on a project we’ve been talking about for a while. I could go on… Continue reading “Author Interview with Elizabeth Coldwell”
