I must confess this was virgin territory for me; my first foray into science fiction erotica. After some initial discomfort as I adjusted to the new sensation, I admit it was really quite pleasurable. Of course I can’t comment on how successful the book is in terms of the science fiction, but I will say it was an enjoyable erotic read.

This collection of short stories is essentially one long connected story broken into sections, making it read more like a novella. It is set in outer space, on spaceships and stations, which to my naive eyes felt believable. The plot centred around Carter and his experiences with his female senior officers and a mysterious alien, Laura. The narrative flowed very well, with excellent read-on pull. What was your first job?

I worked in a candy store. It made me a bit of a chocolate snob at a rather young age, but that’s probably for the best.

What are the most important components that go into making  good erotic fiction?

Sensory detail and a good sense of humour. Maybe that’s just me, but I love to laugh, too. I can’t imagine falling for someone who doesn’t make me laugh a LOT.

If you could have any celebrity pictured carrying one of your books who would you choose and why?

What was your childhood ambition?

I wanted to be a writer. This ambition was fuelled by my teacher who wrote on my school report – that ‘Eva has an individual way of expressing herself.’

I had no idea about genres at that time – I just wanted to be a writer.
